Today I have tell you the difference between MPEG-2 Set Top Box and MPEG-4 Set Top Box. Many people don’t know difference between both set top boxes, due to they confused while buying a new set top box. And they are unable to choose right set top box. Difference between MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 Set Top Box
1. In MPEG-2 Set Top Box, you can save 1000 to 2000 channels. But In MPEG-4 Set Top Box, yo can save more than 4000 channels and more than 2000 transponders.
2. USB Port available in MPEG-4 Set Top Box. You can connect your Pen Drive or Memory Card to MPEG-4 Set Top Box via USB Port and you can play your favourite MOVIES, VIDEOS, PHOTOS and MUSIC. Also you can Record your favourite Program or MOVIE. But in MPEG-2 Set Top Box, USB Port didn’t available.
3. MPEG-2 Set Top Box support only SD channels, but MPEG-4 Set Top Box support Full HD channels because MPEG-4 Set Top Box support FULL HD 1080P resolution.
4. MPEG-4 Set Top Box has HDMI port so that you get Good Video and Audio quality better then MPEG-2 Set Top Box.
5. MPEG-2 Set Top Box support DiSEqC 1.0, but MPEG-4 Set Top Box support DiSEqC 1.0 and DiSEqC 1.2 .
6. MPEG-4 Set Top Box support Wi-Fi, and you can connect Wi-Fi antenna via USB Port and you can play Youtube, IPTV, etc. But this feature missing in MPEG-2 Set Top Box.
7. Some MPEG-4 Set Top Box support DLNA service, With which you can Cast your mobile photos, videos and music to MPEG-4 Set Top Box.
8. The price of MPEG-2 Set Top Box is low, and the Price of MPEG-4 Set Top Box is high. Because MPEG-4 Set Top Box has more features than MPEG-2 Set Top Box.
9. MPEG-2 Set Top Box support only MPEG-2 Slot’s Channels. MPEG-2 Set Top Box didn’t support MPEG-4 Slot’s Channels. but MPEG-4 Set Top Box support all MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 Slot’s channels.
10. If you have a LED TV or LCD TV, then please buy MPEG-4 Set Top Box. Because MPEG-4 Set Top Box give you Good Video and Audio quality better then MPEG-2 Set Top Box.
